In any transaction where goods are bought and sold, there is a transfer of ownership. The various parties need support from an independent third party to provide reassurance of the conformity of cargoes. They also need quick reporting from the field about quality and quantity or any other specific aspect of the product.

What is inspecting mineral products?
The inspection of mineral products calls for weight and quality checks. These checks can be carried out at various stages of the product’s life cycle, and they include checks which are carried out on the extraction or processing site, in warehouses, at loading/unloading facilities and on board ships. Inspectors from Bureau Veritas supervise the operations, visually inspect the goods, take measurements and perform weight checks and they also take samples in order to verify the quality by means of laboratory analyses.
A report, which is sent to the client, is drawn up every day during the operations; from the ship’s arrival at the port of lading right through until the end of the loading or unloading work. As soon as the loading/unloading work is complete, an overall report is sent by e-mail.
